Virgin Excavated Natural Material
Earthlynx Engineering specializes in the assessment and classification of Virgin Excavated Natural Material (VENM). VENM, encompassing natural elements such as clay, gravel, sand, soil, or rock fines, is sourced from areas free of chemical or industrial contamination, ensuring the absence of sulfuric soils or other waste materials.
At Earthlynx Engineering, we focus on untouched soil in its natural state, devoid of any alterations or contaminants. Our classification process aligns with The Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (POEO Act).
To assess and classify VENM, Earthlynx Engineering employs a meticulous procedure. If a site has undergone prior classification, our experts refer to the existing soil profile to determine the suitability of VENM. In cases where no previous assessments have taken place, our dedicated team of environmental scientists and geotechnical engineers conducts on-site evaluations. This ensures a thorough examination to distinguish between undisturbed natural soils and those that may have been modified as fill soils.
Should an excavated material not meet the VENM classification criteria, it may still qualify for reuse under the excavated natural material order, guided by Earthlynx Engineering’s expertise.
