Excavated Natural Material
Excavated Natural Material (ENM) becomes a crucial classification when materials fail to meet the Virgin Excavated Natural Material (VENM) criteria. At Earthlynx Engineering, our qualified assessments specialize in classifying previously disturbed or mildly contaminated soil as ENM.
ENM, under the jurisdiction of Clause 93 of the Protection of the Environment Operations (Waste) Regulation 2014, is identified as naturally occurring rock and soil that has been excavated from the ground. It comprises a minimum of 98% natural material by weight and does not align with the definition of Virgin Excavated Natural Material.
The meticulous process of assessing and classifying ENM at Earthlynx Engineering involves referencing the NSW EPA Excavated Natural Materials Order. This order provides specific guidelines for sampling density, facilitating in-situ assessments or stockpile assessments. Notably, our in-situ sampling approach boasts a higher density compared to stockpile sampling, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of Excavated Natural Material.
